Washington DC
Washington DC the must-see capital city in the world
Washington D.C. was not directly at the top of my bucket list, but my friend moved here from Beijing, so the perfect reason to visit her and explore the capital city of the United States. Washington D.C. (District of Columbia) is on the East Coast of America and should not be confused with Washington State, which is on the West Coast. I had been to New York twice before but I heard from several people that Washington D.C. is quite different and perhaps more fun. And I can tell you that indeed is true; New York is mostly busy, crowded and hectic while Washington D.C. is quiet, spacious and green. Totally different look and feel, so to speak. I had the advantage of being able to stay with a friend and immerse myself in the “American Way of Life” for 10 days!
In my separate blogs I will explain and elaborate on the free entrance of the Smithsonian Museums in Washington DC, but also how to discover the green parks and National parks just nearby the city center. Washington DC is so divers! Admire the history and impressive memorials spread over the city next to the iconic buildings you can visit, like the Capitol and of course the White House.
Don’t forget the great shopping experience in one of the outlets or shopping centers across the city. Georgetown and the Waterfront area on the Potomac River are perfect for a drink and nice food. Washington has it all!! Hope you like it and please let me know!

All Smithsonian Museums are free of entrance!
I found this to be a really great benefit: visiting a museum for free! And I can assure you this saves a lot of money! The Smithsonian Institution is an American educational and research institution with associated museum complex founded in 1846 Washington D.C. The...
