Homemade Granola

You can find many recipes on granola, but this one I like a lot!! And to be honest it is very easy to make. You have to wait and stir every 10 minutes, but in the meantime you can do whatever you want. The only disadvantage is that it taste so good that you can’t stop eating it……hmmmm. Rens Kroes is making here granola herself too, that inspired me, making mine! Check this Granola food blog and others for more information and inspirations!

Homemade Granola: What ingredients do you need?

  • 10 minutes of your time to prepare and then 40 min to bake
  • Container airtight to store the granola (if you can keep it that long……)
  • Oven + big baking tray
  • Bowls 2: one big and one smaller to mix the ingredients
  • Oat flakes: 250 gr
  • Hazelnuts: 50 gr
  • Walnuts: 50 gr
  • Sunflower seeds: 50 gr
  • Almonds: 50 gr
  • Sesame seed: 50 gr
  • Coconut oil: melted 120 gr
  • Honey: 200 gr
  • Sea salt: 1 teaspoon
  • Hot water: 1 tablespoon
  • Vanilla powder: 1 teaspoon
  • Optional: Cocos powder

How to make this Homemade Granola?

Heat up the oven already at 160°Celsius. Stir in the bigger bowl the dry ingredients; oat flakes, hazelnuts, walnuts, sunflower seeds, almonds, sesame seeds and the vanilla powder (except the salt). In the smaller bowl you melt the salt in the hot water; add the honey and melted coconut oil. This wet mixture you add to the dry ingredients and make sure all is good covered.

Homemade granola breakfast Meal; Healthy Food recipes and inspirations BlogTake the baking tray and put mixture on the plate and spread it all over. Put the tray in the oven for 35/40 minutes. Please check every 10 minutes and stir the granola with a spatula. Some parts burn faster than others, so be alert and keep mixing. If the granola looks delicious and brown, turn of the oven and let the tray cool off in the oven with the door half open. Wait till the tray with granola has cooled off and put it in the airtight container.

I make the nuts a bid smaller instead of using them as a whole, this way the nuts can be more scattered among the granola.

You can add dried fruit through the granola if you like, cranberries, raisins or dried apricots. I usually put coconut through the granola, as part of the dry ingredients. You can vary with what you like.

Enjoy your Homemade Granola!!!

Perfect to eat with a chia pudding, check here the recipe!
