Easy Overnight Oatmeal

I stopped buying normal milk and now I always have one packing of almond milk in my refrigerator. Normally I don’t use that much of plant based milk, but before it runs out of date I need to used it; so I prepared a overnight oatmeal this time. The only thing with this dish is, that you don’t need to forget to make it!!! You have to leave it in the refrigerator overnight and prepare it the night before; it only takes you 5 minutes. This breakfast is very filling due to the oatmeal. Oatmeal is one of the healthiest grains and it’s gluten-free. This nutritious whole-grain is full with important vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. It contains more protein than other fibers and helps to loss weight; the filling feeling make you eat less calories. The decreasing sensitivity effect on the hormone insulin will help to lower the blood sugar levels and could reduce the risk of heart disease. All in all a very healthy product to add to your daily diet which can be eaten warm, cold and added to baked products like muffins! What ingredients do you need for one portion of this Overnight Oatmeal?

Ingredients:

  • 10 minutes of your time + overnight in refrigerator
  • Glass or bowl: 1 to serve
  • Oatmeal: 50 gr, preferably the fine instead of the coarse oats
  • Almond (or any other plant based) milk: 175 ml
  • Chia seeds: 1 teaspoon
  • Vanilla protein powder: 1 teaspoon
  • Nuts: 1 tablespoon crushed
  • Fresh fruits: 1 serving to top
  • (Optional) Coconut yogurt: 1 tablespoon

This is the easiest meal on my website so far. Put all the ingredients except the fruits, nuts and yogurt in a glass; stir and mix all well. Cover the glass and put in the refrigerator for the night. The next morning your Overnight Oatmeal is ready, stir before using and add some additional milk if you think the substance is too thick. Top with the fresh fruits, nuts and yogurt to make it looks awesome and very delicious. Enjoy this filling, easy and healthy breakfast!!!
