Belize

Unbelievable Travel Destination Belize

Unbelievable or unbelize…able Belize!! And that is exactly how I would describe the blue waters around the Belize Barrier reef  The Belize reef is the second largest reef in the world! The reefs and uncountable cayes are a sailing, scuba and snorkel paradise, where you spot over hundreds of tropical fish and colorful different shaped corals; including the world-known Blue Hole. This famous Blue Hole is a natural wonder and best seen by plane. If you google Belize, this picture is shown first in the searches.

Caye Caulker is a hot spot for snorkeling, party and has a laidback Rasta vibe. The easygoing towns Hopkins and more US orientated Placencia are perfect to chill and stroll around and have easy access to the reefs. In Belize the jungle is not far away from wherever you are and full with natural parks (Belize Zoo), wildlife sanctuaries and protected areas with a high density of Maya civilizations. Did you know that the Toucan is the natural bird of Belize?! The renowned Actun Tunichil Muknal (ATM) cave close to San Ignacio is an adventure to visit and experience the Maya culture all at ones.

Belize is not the most visited country in Central America, but not sure why? It is not cheap and not real backpackers county, but I found it worth all the money and time and had a blast with the Rastafari people! A big advantage for most people is that you can speak English in Belize, Spanish is the second language. In all my separate blogs I will give you inspirations, information and tips to plan your travel to Belize. Hope you like it and please let me know!
